Climbers in the Canopy, the Crane Overhead
The crew goes up on rope and saddle, in helmets and orange, and works the canopy from the top down. The crane hook and sling come down into the tree, and the climber ties the section off before making the cut.
Once the line is tight, the cut is made and the piece is carried away on the crane. The heavy sections never come down through the canopy on their own.
Lifted Out Over the Roofline
This tree stood right next to the house. In the video, cut trunk sections hang from the crane sling and travel out over the roof, and whole tops go up with long lengths of trunk still attached.
Taking the weight on the crane is how a big tree comes out next to a home: each piece is held before it’s cut, then lifted and set down where the crew wants it.
Down to the Stump
With the canopy gone, the climbers come down the trunks and the remaining wood is cut and laid out on the lawn. A stump grinder finishes the job and leaves fresh chips where the tree stood.
Crane-Assisted Tree Removal in Orlando
Kirby’s Tree Service is based in Central Florida. Most removals don’t need a crane, because a climber or a bucket truck can handle them. A crane makes sense when a big tree sits close to a house, when the sections are too heavy to lower on a rope, or when nothing below can take a dropped limb.
If you have a tree like that, call 407-253-6291 or send the details through the contact page.
