The Job
A large mature oak in an Orlando front yard had to come down. A tree this size is not something you drop whole on a residential lot — so the crew climbed it and took it apart from the top instead.
The climber went up on a rope line and worked down through the canopy, cutting limbs and dropping them into a landing zone the ground crew kept clear. Once the crown was off, the trunk came down in sections until only a spar was left standing.
Why an Oak This Size Comes Down in Sections
A mature oak holds an enormous amount of weight out on the ends of its limbs, and a residential lot rarely has a clear radius big enough to take the whole tree at once. Felling it whole would put the yard, the street, the neighbors' property, and the overhead lines crossing the lot all at risk in a single cut.
Sectional tree removal takes longer, but nothing comes down free. Each limb and each trunk section is cut small enough that the climber and the ground crew know where it is going before the saw goes in. That is the same reason an oak tree too close to a house, a roof, or power lines gets handled this way — the drop zone decides the method, not the tree.
Cleanup and Haul-Away
The ground crew fed brush and logs to the CAT skid steer, which loaded the trunk sections into the dump trailer. Everything went out the same day — no logs stacked at the curb waiting on a second trip.
